PHP is an "HTML-embedded programming language" mainly used for developing web applications that are dynamic. The primary part of this definition implies that PHP code is often interspersed with HTML code, making it straightforward to create dynamic elements of web content. As a programming language, PHP code will only with the help of the PHP processor. PHP codes are often executed as plain-text scripts which will only run on computers that support PHP. Which made previously formed acronym to be called as Hypertext PreProcessor (PHP) at this point. In 1998, PHP 3 was released, that was the first widely used version of PHP around the globe. And then the new version PHP 4 was released in May 2000, with a brand new core, referred to as the Zend Engine 1.0. PHP 4 boasted improved speed and reliability in comparison to PHP 3. In terms of features, PHP 4 offered additional references, the Boolean type, COM support on Windows, output buffering, several new array functions, enlarged object-oriented programming, inclusion of the PCRE library, and more.
